Man, it's difficult to figure out which category to put this in, because it's a Photoshop creation, essentially fan-art for a MMO computer game, but intended to look as realistic as possible so that it can be used as a texture in the game
This was a contest entry I produced in early 2007 for Myst Online: Uru Live, using Photoshop. The garden Age called Eder Tsogahl was accessed by linking books in city neighborhoods, and the D'ni Restoration Council asked explorers (us) to assist the restoration by "restoring" (designing) stained glass windows symbolising the Age.
(Lots more "grime" and detail shows up in the full view.)
The three chosen entries
, of which this was one, were imported into Uru so that our stained glass panels would appear to be hanging above the linking book pedistals. It was a very exciting way to make a contribution to the game, and many people entered and gave it their all. I'm honored to have had my art in MO:UL, even though the game's life was woefully short.
I don't tend to be very confident in my 2-D design capabilities, but I really feel proud of and happy with this one. I'd absolutely love to make it tangible one day.
